Toronto FIFA Fan Festival 2026: What to Expect at Fort York & The Bentway

The FIFA Fan Festival isn't just for fans at Toronto Stadium. It's a 40-day celebration at Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway (June 11–July 19, 2026) — and it's free to enter.

Here's what you need to know about attending, getting there, and making the most of your time.

Where Is It? Fort York & The Bentway

The festival spans two iconic Toronto waterfront spaces:

• Fort York National Historic Site — The main venue with open green space, perfect for concerts and fan zones.
• The Bentway — The public space under the Gardiner Expressway, featuring food vendors, activations, and secondary stages.

Both are located at the intersection of Fort York Boulevard and Bathurst Street, right on Toronto's waterfront and just a 10-minute walk from Exhibition Place and Toronto Stadium.

Dates & Hours: June 11–July 19

The festival opens June 11 (one day before Canada's opening match) and runs through July 19, one week after the tournament ends.

Match Day Schedule

On Toronto match days (June 12, 17, 20, 23, 26 and July 2), the festival runs extended hours with larger crowds, more food vendors, and higher-capacity stages — expect full-day programming.

Non-Match Days

On other days during the tournament window, the festival operates on reduced hours (exact times TBD by FIFA and the City of Toronto, but expect afternoon through evening programming).

Entry & Admission: Free (Probably)

Assuming free entry, there are no tickets required — just show up. Some individual events (concerts, special performances) may require advance registration, but core festival access should be open to everyone.

Watch Every World Cup Match

Giant screens broadcast all World Cup matches — not just Toronto games. Even on non-match days, you can catch other knockout rounds, semifinals, and the final. Fort York becomes one massive watch party.

Getting There: TTC, Walking, or Cycling

TTC Streetcar (Best Option)

• 509 Harbourfront Streetcar — Stop right at Fort York Boulevard. Increased frequency during the festival.
• 511 Bathurst Streetcar — Direct route to Fort York. Runs frequently and gets crowded on match days.

Walking from Union Station

Union Station is about a 20-minute walk south along Bathurst Street or west along the waterfront. Flat, scenic walk along the Toronto waterfront.

GO Transit

Take GO to Exhibition Station (which becomes customer-only on match days). Walk west for about 10 minutes to reach Fort York.

Cycling

Fort York is directly on the Waterfront Trail, Toronto's main cycling route. Bike parking and Bike Share valet service will be available (temporary locations — regular docks are removed during the tournament).

Avoid Driving

Fort York Boulevard is fully pedestrianized during the entire festival period, and street parking is closed throughout the area. Parking is not available — use transit instead.

Smart Tips for Your Visit

Arrive Early on Match Days

With up to 45,000 fans attending matches, expect massive crowds. Arrive an hour or two early to find a good spot near the screens and avoid peak congestion.

Bring Sunscreen & Stay Hydrated

Fort York is open green space — there's sun exposure. Bring sunscreen, water, and plan for comfort in June and July heat.

Plan Your Food Strategy

Vendor lines get long during matches. Eat early or late, or bring a picnic. There will be plenty of options, but popular items sell out.

Check for Special Programming

Garrison Crossing Bridge Is Closed

The pedestrian bridge over the rail corridor is closed for the entire festival period. If you're coming from the west (King West, Liberty Village), use Strachan Avenue or Bathurst Street instead.

Distance to Toronto Stadium

Fort York is only about a 10-minute walk from Exhibition Place and Toronto Stadium. If you have a match ticket, you can easily visit the Fan Festival before or after the game.

Many fans plan their day: arrive early at the Festival for food and entertainment, head to the match, then come back afterward to celebrate (or commiserate) with the crowd.
